Sheriff's Office Runs Youth Programs, Neighborhood Watch, Pastors Forum

VARNVILLE — The Hampton County Sheriff's Office operates out of a building on Cemetery Road, but its reach extends far beyond patrol and badges.
Youth Explorers Program
The Youth Explorers Program gives young people hands-on exposure to law enforcement careers. Participants learn about criminal investigations, patrol procedures, and courtroom processes while developing discipline and leadership.
Neighborhood Watch
The Neighborhood Watch initiative organizes residents into groups trained to observe and report suspicious activity. Deputies cannot be everywhere at once; alert citizens can extend the department's eyes and ears.
Pastors Forum
The Pastors Forum brings together clergy from across Hampton County to discuss community trauma, family instability, and the role of faith institutions in public safety.
Additional Programs
- Summer Camp: Seasonal youth programming
- Community Volunteer Program: Opportunities for adult residents
- Crime Prevention: Public education and home security assessments
- Anonymous Tip Line: JotForm portal for reporting without identifying yourself
- Victim Advocate Services: Support for residents navigating the aftermath of crime
