Banana Ball Comes Home: Savannah Bananas Return to Grayson Stadium — Sports

SAVANNAH — They call it Banana Ball, and there is nothing else like it in baseball. The Savannah Bananas — part theater, part sport, and entirely sold out — return to Historic Grayson Stadium for sixteen home games in 2026, and the Coastal Empire is ready.

For Lowcountry residents within driving distance of Savannah, the Bananas represent neither minor league ball nor circus novelty. They are something better: a regional spectacle that happens to involve a bat and a ball. And in 2026, Savannah remains the team's home anchor even as Banana Ball has become a national phenomenon.

The 2026 Savannah Schedule

  • May 14-16: Three games at Grayson Stadium
  • June 4-6: Three games at Grayson Stadium
  • July 30 -- August 1: Three games at Grayson Stadium
  • September 11-13, 18-20: Seven games at Grayson Stadium
  • October 1: Season finale, time TBA

All Savannah home games are currently sold out, with tickets available through lottery. The pre-game plaza opens ninety minutes before first pitch.

The Coastal Empire Connection

The Bananas began in Savannah in 2015 as a summer collegiate team in the Coastal Plain League, winning three Petitt Cup Championships before transitioning into a year-round touring brand. Historic Grayson Stadium has hosted baseball since 1926 and has seen Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, and Mickey Mantle walk its warning track. The Bananas brought it back to life.

For Hampton County residents, Savannah is the nearest major city. The Bananas give them something worth the drive.
